Morgana Systems to preview Next Generation DigiFold and AutoCreaser at IPEX

Morgana Systems announced they will preview the next generation DigiFold Pro and AutoCreaser Pro at next month’s IPEX event in London. The new machines will take centre stage alongside the previously announced System AF2000S booklet making line.

Commenting on the new DigiFold Pro-500 Managing Director Quen Baum said “The DigiFold has long been the benchmark in this sector of creaser / folder. With the improvements in speed and productivity of latest digital print engines, we need an additional option for our customers. After surveying our DigiFold users last year, we’ve addressed what they need as their digital production grows”.

One of the key changes from previous DigiFold models is the introduction of a high capacity vacuum top feeder which can take a sheet pile of up to 500mm, highlighted in the naming convention of the new models. A unique variation of the Morgana PosiFeed system then transfers the sheets into the creasing and folding section. Stock up to 0.4mm can be creased and folded with virtually no cracking of the sheets or the toner on them. Other new features include dual creasing blades, which can be set for up and down creasing profiles, or for different thickness of crease, and automatic setup of the folding rollers, which are manually set in current models.

Ray Hillhouse, Morgana’s sales director added “the new PRO-500 model will top the DigiFold range and will offer a heavy-duty machine for longer run applications of both digitally and litho printed jobs – it’s exactly what our larger customers have been asking for”

In addition to the new DigiFold model, The AutoCreaser Pro 500 will be launched, also benefitting from the new high capacity feeder. Hillhouse continued “the AutoCreaser is still our best-selling machine and the new PRO 500 will take us into higher volume applications with a heavier duty machine”.

As well as the new feeder, this version of the AutoCreaser will also have a dual creasing blade & matrix, which is particularly useful if producing covers for perfect binding, where the spine and hinge creases can be produced in one pass, or for those users who wish to change creasing profiles regularly. The new AutoCreaser can run at up to 8500 sheets per hour.
