Col-Tee will show at Ipex a high speed suction feed collator

  • Publicado el 24 de Marzo de 2014

Col-Tee will be showing a high speed suction feed collator gathering a wide range of materials from single leaf 40gsm, coated and uncoated stock, card of various thicknesses, credit cards, Braille and folded items as well as 16 and 32 page sections. Prospective customers are invited to test run their own sample material on the exhibition machine.

Detection to ensure absolute accuracy includes self-setting miss and double sheet sensors both at each station as well as at the exit of the collator. New for Col-Tee is a text recognition sensor ensuring only correct material is loaded in the feed stations. The deep pile station is shown with a new fully automatic tilting table to accommodate folded material with thick or stitched spines. The robust interior workings of the collator will be illuminated for easy inspection by prospective buyers. The Col-Tee collator is the most versatile gatherer in use worldwide.

A further new development to be shown on the exhibition machine is an intelligent data program. Traditionally collators deliver sets in thousands or hundreds of thousands but they are all the same i.e. sequential collation of calendars from January to December. This ID program will show 10 sets being collated all of which have a different make up. Of the 10 sets collated no two will be the same!

Seeing the conveyor stop/start according to the data input together with feeders switching on/off makes for an impressive watch! This technology will appeal to mail fulfilment and point of sale  print sectors where small batches of collated items are needed for a multitude of different stores/outlets but in combination still equate to thousands of collations.
