Euro Pool System is Europe's largest logistics provider in the field of reusable packaging for fresh produce and features reusable blue, green and black packaging which rotates several million times every year. In cooperation with the European retailer, Euro Pool System is increasingly focusing on optimum logistics solutions. For almost five years, Euro Pool System has been working together with the German baling press manufacturer HSM GmbH + Co. KG with great success. In September 2015, already the fifth fully automatic baling press will be delivered to the logistics provider.

Cardboard, PET bottles and aluminium drink cans are compressed in all the HSM channel baling presses that were previously delivered. Two HSM VK 8818 R FU machines with chain conveyor belts and a pressing power of 880 kN have been in use in Hungary since 2011. Depending on the material, the highly compressed bales reach a weight of up to 700 kg, a bale size of approx. 1100 x 750 x 600-1200 mm and are held together by a fully automatic 5-fold wire strapping.

One of the two presses is equipped with a PET perforator, so that the PET bottles can be perforated and significantly reduced in volume before compressing. As a result of the smooth and successful cooperation so far, Euro Pool System opted once again for two HSM VK 8818 R FU machines for the branch in the Czech Republic in 2013. All four baling presses are equipped with a frequency-controlled drive, which enable power to be reduced by up to 40% compared to conventional drives.

This year, Euro Pool has now ordered another machine of the same type for the branch in Slovakia, which is due to be delivered shortly. Another machine order for this location is already in the pipeline.
