HERMA will show a modular labelling Systems at FachPack 2015

How can modular labelling solutions tackle even special requirements, e.g. for customers from the fields of mechanical engineering or healthcare? At the FachPack 2015 exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany, HERMA (hall 3A, stand 231) will showcase how a 362E labelling machine that has been newly designed on a modular basis can execute a wide range of functions without forfeiting its excellent price/performance ratio. These functions include easy changeovers from double-sided labelling to wrap-around labelling, a third HERMA 400 label applicator, a missing label control system, a reject unit, and a label positioning mode. In many cases, users therefore no longer need to employ costly bespoke machines.

Following the motto “From module to system”, the self-adhesive technology specialist will also showcase how standardized HERMA modules and components help users smoothly integrate labelling solutions into top-of-the-range packaging plants. “The demand for labelling modules for very specific customer requirements is growing, and lot size one is not uncommon”, says Martin Kühl, head of HERMA’s Labelling Machines division. With such orders, general contractors keep facing the same challenge: minimizing the effort for the integration of individual components and ensuring safe operational processes from the outset despite the specific tasks. “Highly versatile labelling systems from HERMA that can be combined again and again from reliable, proven standard modules are the solution”, says Kühl.

The HERMA 400 label applicator, for instance, is now manufactured several thousand times per year with the same basic structure. In this case, electronics and software are completely integrated in the label applicator. Keeping them updated does not change the design of the device in the slightest. The individual components of the label applicator, such as unwinders and rewinders, dispensing systems, and label sensors are also manufactured in great quantities. Users can reach a great degree of versatility by keeping several versions of these components in stock, such as right and left versions, units for different reel diameters, label types, and label widths. The HERMA 400 has thus become one of the best-selling label applicators in the premium range.
