Xeikon CX3 helps CODEX expand brand work

  • Publicado el 10 de Diciembre de 2015

Leading Hungarian specialty label producer CODEX is the latest company to validate the business-winning benefits of the Xeikon CX3 digital label press. CODEX specializes in Extended Content Labels (ECL), often referred to as booklet labels; security and anti-counterfeit label solutions; and labels for food and pharmaceutical products. The company has an extensive production portfolio of offset, flexo, screen and digital printing solutions as well as extensive finishing capabilities. The Xeikon CX3 will enable this innovative €5 million turnover company to be even more competitive in its chosen market segments as well as position it to enter new markets, both locally and around the globe.

”Our Xeikon CX3 is already delivering big dividends,” says CODEX Chairman Károly Orbán. “Its incredibly fast production speeds and high quality have helped us increase both productivity and profitability. And thanks to its CHEETAH toner, we can supply the food, cosmetics and pharma industries with labels that conform to the latest EU regulations. In fact, we have already produced several different labels for Nestlé Hungary since we installed the system a short time ago.” Xeikon’s CHEETAH toner technology, incorporated in the specifically-designed Cheetah toner used with the CX3, requires a much lower fusing temperature than typical toner-based presses, meaning it can print on a wider range of heat-sensitive substrates. It also meets FDA regulations for food contact and offers the ability to print opaque white toner in one pass, important for printing on dark and transparent substrates.

For almost three decades, CODEX has been recognized as a leading provider of unique and specialized labels, including ECL (Extended Content Labels) and security labels for a broad range of national and international clients from number of industries. The Xeikon CX3 joins its impressive printing production facility that includes a Xeikon 3300, five conventional and UV offset printing machines, rotary and flatbed digital and flexo solutions, as well as screen printing systems.

“We wanted to shorten our lead times yet maintain a reasonable price point for smaller quantities,” Orbán states. “We also wanted to increase our production capacity, and to be able to be even more competitive with our booklet label production. The Xeikon CX3 has proven to be the ideal solution to meet those needs and will take us to ever new levels as we continue to explore the new applications it enables.”

Most importantly, Orbán is confident the Xeikon CX3 will help CODEX achieve its goal of creating a highly flexible approach to print production: “There really was no other choice but the Xeikon CX3 press to achieve these objectives,” he adds. As for the expected long-term impact of the Xeikon CX3, Orbán states, “In addition to all of its other benefits, and its contribution toward cementing our leading market position in the Central European region, we expect to be able to gain an even stronger foothold in the luxury label market, especially food, cosmetics and pharma, and to maintain long-lasting customer relationships.

Orbán expects the Xeikon CX3 to be a key enabler for the company’s ongoing expansion of market opportunities” with the help of the Xeikon CX3, we can increase and expand our export activities. Thanks to Xeikon, we can deliver the outstanding quality, fast production and high customer satisfaction that will make achievement of these lofty goals possible.”

As for the CODEX relationship with Xeikon, Orbán states: “We work well with Xeikon’s Hungarian distributor Bauer+Bauer and also with Xeikon’s branch office in Austria. The service and support has been excellent, and we know that we can turn to them with any kind of technical questions and we will quickly get the right answers.”
