ORAJET Aircraft Film lands on Antarctica

  • Publicado el 25 de Diciembre de 2015

When the first ever commercial Boeing 757 passenger airliner recently landed on a blue-ice runway in Antarctica, it was decorated with graphics applications made in ORAJET 3967AC Aircraft Graphic Film with the overlaminating film ORAGUARD 293AC.

Evelyn Zocher, Sales and Marketing Director for ORAFOL’s Graphic Products Division says, “Landing the first ever commercial aircraft in Antarctica is such a milestone, and ORAFOL is extremely proud to have taken a small part in this major achievement. We introduced the ORAJET® 3967AC Aircraft Graphic Film and ORAGUARD® 293AC just two years ago, and already it has become a very well established product in the ever increasing market for high quality aircraft deco films.”

“In general, the technical requirements for durability in extreme conditions are very high for graphic aircraft films. Withstanding polar conditions such as these in Antarctica is a good example of this. I am pleased to say that the ORAFOL materials are up for any such challenges,” Evelyn Zocher concludes.

The Antarctica landing was a joint partnership between Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions (ALE), Loftleidir Icelandic, and NAS Corporation Limited (NAS), with the aim to research the potential for utilising conventional passenger airliners for the blue-ice landings instead of only passenger/cargo aircrafts which have been used in the past.
