HERMA UK subsidiary growing rapidly

  • Publicado el 11 de Enero de 2016

HERMA’s Self-adhesive Materials division is registering sustained strong growth, not least due to the innovative multi-layer technology. After a state-of-the-art slitting machine was recently put into operation at the company’s headquarters in Filderstadt, Germany, its British subsidiary which grew by more than 30 percent last year has now also invested in a new slitting machine for film-based materials.

At a maximum speed of 800 m/min, the new slitting machine enables the efficient processing of large orders as well as small batches while providing a consistently high quality along with short setup times. The investment amounted to more than £500,000.

Colin Phillips, director of the Self-adhesive Materials division at HERMA UK, explains the growing demand for film-based label stock: “Thanks to our multi-layer technology, printers can produce labels from film-based label stock much more easily – with less adhesive bleeding and reduced contamination of the slitting dies. Moreover, we are currently registering a very buoyant market, with many customers and end users demanding a next day service. Thanks to the new, versatile slitting machine, we are able to fulfill these demands.”
