After finishing a successful e-upgrade for two commercial web offset presslines, the printing company ADAM NG in Bruchsal again opts for their long-term partner for the installation of inline control systems. manroland web systems offers a wide range of service upgrade solutions that help the customer to reduce costs and improve the quality. As the only press manufacturer on the market, manroland web systems develops the in-house Inline Control Systems that enable an integrated, holistic production with huge operating comfort. Therefore, the printer ADAM NG decided to replace the entire infrastructure of two existing commercial presses.

Amongst others, customers from the retail-, automotive-, furniture- and electronic industry will benefit from the latest heatset technology. ADAM NG wants a confident production control to supply its customers reliably and at best cost-per-copy. Therefore, the printer has implemented some retrofit projects together with manroland web systems at the beginning of this year. As part of a comprehensive e-upgrade, the hard- and software of the existing LITHOMAN and ROTOMAN presslines have been updated as well as the control systems of the folder of the LITHOMAN. Therefore the dismantled hardware has been used as a redundancy for the ROTOMAN. The former PECOM PressManager including software has been replaced by a state-of-the-art model for using the optimum of the workflow range. Due to this, the best conditions for an integration of the latest technology have been created.

For offering the best possible quality to its customers, ADAM NG now invests in another upgrade – a complete replacement of the inline control systems of a third-party-supplier at the LITHOMAN. Therefore, the printer again opted for a reliable partner with comprehensive know-how and decided to choose the control systems for ink density, color register and cut-off register from manroland web systems. Those are part of the brand family PECOM-X, which includes all manroland web systems solutions and functions for networking and automation for printing houses. PECOM-X includes numerous new functions that help to increase the efficiency at the printing room.

manroland web systems has a comprehensive process know-how from the print production via mechanics and electronics up to software. Due to this knowledge, the ideal control systems can be developed. Therfore, the measuring systems and the best possible algorithms are produced and provided together with the sub company grapho metronic. Inline control systems for ink density, color- and cut-off register, as integrated at ADAM NG, are part of the quality initiative of the printer.

The difference between IDCm and the well-known InlineDensity Control (IDC) are traversing measuring modules. The significantly lower costs for the investment and the proven measuring quality and -accuracy are a success factor, combined with the easy integration to existing presslines.

The new Inline Control Systems at the LITHOMAN will be installed and integrated in April. “The greatest benefits result from the reduced waste rates and, at the same, time higher quality”, says Paul Haas, Technical Director at ADAM NG. “We are looking forward to again working with manroland web systems on these projects and the optimizations that result from this.”
