ColorGATE presents RIP Software Version 10 at Fespa Digital

  • Publicado el 08 de Marzo de 2016

ColorGATE will present its comprehensive solutions portfolio for Commercial and Industrial Printing at FESPA Digital 2016 in Amsterdam. The Version 10 of the RIP Software families Productionserver, Filmgate and Proofgate will be presented for the first time. The dedicated Productionserver workflow solutions Ceramic-, Décor-, Packaging- and Textile Productionserver have been added to the portfolio in Version 10. Especially targeted at manufacturers of industrial digital printing systems in particular is the Industrial Productionserver Lab Edition. The ColorGATE team will be on hand to answer all questions on the topics of Commercial and Industrial Printing during the entire show at theBooth G130 in Hall 1, from March 8th to 11th 2016.

In addition, ColorGATE will showcase Colorrizer, a coloration software and Rapid Spectro Cube (RSC), an extremely fast color measurement system, which together with the Industrial Productionserver variants, covers the entire digital production workflow from the creation of the design to color matching using soft and hardcopy proofing right on up to final printing. As a result, matching and production processes can be optimized and fine-tuned to perform even better.

ColorGATE will be featuring PrintProcessLab (PPL) as the exclusive distributor. PPL is a unique test and simulation system for simplified, accelerated process development in industrial inkjet printing. The new Version 10 stands out be utilizing the latest Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE). The market-leading RIP engine for a fast image processing of complex graphics without any surprises. During the integration process of APPE, ColorGATE further optimized and improved the stability and speed of PDF processing. Additionally the overall PDF processing speed have been optimized too as well as the handling of multipage PDF files.

With the latest optimization Productionserver 10 further increases productivity. Modern inkjet printers are capable of printing hundreds of square meters per hour. It is vital that the RIP is capable of keeping up with these speed requirements. Even more if multiple printers are driven by a single RIP instance. The RIP performance has been increased by up to 68% compared to Version 9.

The Job Backup Module (JBM) enables archiving of single print jobs — if desired including all job specific settings (e.g. profiles and print data) — to a freely definable directory. At a later time these jobs can be reproduced on the same or on another printer using the original settings. The Channel Redirection Module (CRDM) enables the definition which color channel should be printed on which print head. Until now this was only possible for the screen workflow to a limited extent. Due to customer feedback it has been enabled also for production and proof workflow. In addition, it is now possible to redirect one color channel to multiple print heads.

The new ColorGATE licensing model contains from Version 10 on multiple licensing options to provide a plus of flexibility for the respective workflow of the user. The ColorGATE Single Host License (SHL) covers all well-established benefits of a simple and secure licensing process for a single license, which can be installed and used on a single system only. The new ColorGATE Multi Host License (MHL) offers a plus of flexibility using the RIP Software with a simple and simultaneously secure licensing system. With MHL the RIP Software can be used on several systems (hosts) at the same time.

The new application-specific Industrial Productionserver solutions are based on ColorGATE know-how in color management and the intelligent control of printing systems and have been designed to provide all the functions required in the industrial area of application concerned. ColorGATE’s Ceramic Productionserver functions as a central print data management system and accomplishes by that the highest process efficiency from design to the final ceramic product. The digital end-to-end workflow offers a secure import and conversion (n-Color) of designs and color data as well as the creation of separations with 3–8 channels.

Décor Productionserver is a modular workflow and Color Management solution aligned to digital décor printing with industrial digital printing systems of all leading manufacturers. ColorGATE offers with Packaging Productionserver a performance optimized RIP and Color Management Software for direct decoration of containers, flexible packaging and cardboard packaging in an industrial scale. This comprehensive and automatable solution ensures cost-efficient digital print production with optimal color reproduction and easy-to-use functions for all requirements in high-quality packaging printing. Packaging Productionserver is of modular design and can be extended per demand or scaled in terms of processing speed.

ColorGATE offers with Textile Productionserver a performance-optimized RIP and Color Management software for all applications in digital textile printing. This includes the support of printing devices for sublimation processes as well as industrial textile processes for natural, synthetic and mixed fabrics using reactive or pigment inks for direct printing.

ColorGATE presents Colorrizer: a new process-optimized coloration software program for industrial digital printing. With Colorrizer, the design and collection development is already done in the working color space of the digital production system so that the process-dependent printer gamuts are taken into account and fully exploited directly in the design process. This procedure optimizes the process from the design to the digital industrial printing production and leads to significant production time and cost savings.

The Rapid Spectro Cube is an all-in-one Color Management solution for the creation of ICC profiles especially in industrial digital printing applications. It contains an ultrafast color measurement system and software for ICC profiling. RSC can take substrates right up to a size of 600x600 mm with a maximum substrate thickness of 80 mm while processing as far as 10,000 patches per target. Even color measurements of complex substrate surfaces such as ceramics, glass, textiles or metal are possible due to special optimizations. Additionally, the RSC takes measurements of very small objects, for instance from business card sized labels, from which the RSC can read up to 1000 color patches in just a few seconds, which will be processed into high-quality ICC-profiles.

The RSC with its high-resolution sensor technology is able to read a large surface at once compared to common spectrophotometers and provides accurate measurement results, even for surfaces that are difficult to measure to characterize them precisely. In doing so, the reading method of the RSC corresponds to the actual color impression of the human eye.

PrintProcessLab of n-art-m realistically simulates the printing process of industrial inkjet printing systems and provides many different options for analysis and simulation. It supports the inks, controllers and printheads of leading manufacturers. Thanks to PPL, it is now possible to simulate and test the functions of digital printing systems, such as continuous operation, printing distances and speeds, at an early point in time. In addition, different substrates can be thoroughly tested in connection with the printheads used, inks and such process-dependent parameters as drying. Ink and material testing is accelerated and can be done for two- as well as three-dimensional objects. Thus, PPL provides an ideal platform not only for system developers and integrators, but for ink developers as well.
