mactac offers customers a unique matt chrome vehicle wrapping film where liquid meets metal

Responding to car owners who want new and unique vehicle wraps, Mactac has developed a ground-breaking metallic film with a matt surface. Available in ten chrome-finish colours, the new material gives exciting new visual effects both when dry and when wet – effects that can be best described as ‘where liquid meets metal’.

Helene Gobry, Product Manager, said that customers are looking for new materials that truly set their vehicle apart, and the new TF 900 FlexChrome BF series gives them access to an entirely different look: “We’ve had some amazing reaction to these materials. The colours shift with the light – with more colour depth and more shades than a gloss film – and this matt film takes things even further. When the car surface is wet, it develops a very dramatic glossy metallic look, which contrasts with dry matt areas.”

Using a matt surface gives other important benefits. Small imperfections in the car’s surface are masked effectively, unlike a gloss film, and the material does not dazzle other drivers and passers-by in direct sunlight. Everyday scratches and small abrasions are also much less of a problem, because the matt surface helps to conceal them. By contrast, scratches on a gloss film are easy to see.

Helene Gobry said that installers will appreciate the bubble-free adhesive: “Workshop productivity is really important, and we have given installers a low tack, bubble-free material that repositions easily while it’s applied. This film is versatile enough to use on a wide range of projects, from vehicles through to boats and outdoor or indoor furniture.” Local training workshops are being organized in all European countries to share best practice when applying this product.
