Webchance series of presentations to be held at Paperworld 2014

  • Publicado el 06 de Diciembre de 2013

The Webchance Academy presentation forum for successful online advertising and sales is to be held at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds on 28 January 2014 as part of the Christmasworld, Paperworld and Creativeworld events. Throughout the day, various web experts will be outlining the opportunities and developments relating to online marketing and retailing in the Christmasworld forum (Hall 8.0 D11). In addition, retailers will be talking about moving into internet retailing and about the route they took to become multichannel providers.

The Webchance Academy is geared towards stationary retailers who do not have extensive experience in online marketing or retailing. Owing to the high proportion of international visitors and exhibitors at the three consumer goods fairs, the presentations will be translated simultaneously into English.

Following Webchance’s successful debut as a trade fair with an integrated presentation forum during Tendence in August 2013, Messe Frankfurt developed the additional “Webchance Academy” format for 2014. The Webchance Academy focuses solely on presentations and is integrated in existing Messe Frankfurt trade fairs throughout the year. Webchance will be held again as an independent trade fair with a presentation forum on 30 and 31 August 2014.

Ruth Lorenz, Vice President of “New Events” at Messe Frankfurt: “The popularity of Webchance among visitors last August made it clear to us that many retailers have a great need for information about online retailing and marketing. This being the case, we decided to supplement existing trade fairs by integrating Webchance topics in their presentation platforms.”

Cordelia von Gymnich, Vice President of Consumer Goods & Entertainment at Messe Frankfurt: “During the international Christmasworld, Paperworld and Creativeworld events, the Webchance Academy will be held on the Tuesday as part of the Christmasworld forum, focusing on the forward-looking topic of online retailing and marketing. In this way, we aim to give our trade visitors valuable impetus regarding the additional sales and advertising channels offered by the internet.”

In a series of highly accessible presentations, a wide range of retailers – specialising in paper, office supplies and stationery, in arts and crafts materials and in decorations for holidays and other festive occasions – will be given, among other things, insight into search engine marketing, preparing newsletters and setting up user-friendly online shops.

Among the speakers is Betina Hasper, Marketing Director at online office supplies retailer Kaut-Bullinger, who will be reporting on ways of combining digital and traditional channels and on the tools required for a successful online strategy. Rainer Schmelzle from e-commerce agency and web shop producer ElectronicSales will be demonstrating how to develop a concept for upcoming e-commerce projects. The final presentation deals with “Legal stumbling blocks in e-commerce”, in which legal advisers Dr. Jan Rasmus Ludwig and Tim Christopher Caesar from law firm Schulte Riesenkampff Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH will be talking about legal requirements relating to publication details, data protection when dispatching newsletters, and brand and domain law. Following the presentation, the legal experts will be available to answer individual questions about starting up online shops.
