Matrix stripping is one of the key steps of the entire label production. Thanks to the new evolution of OMET’s renowned Rock’n’Roll stripping system and to the introduction of the new “Easy-Strip” unit, this critical stage has become a real added value to all OMET machines. These two technical solutions allow to increase production speed and keep perfect die-cutting shapes, avoiding any issue caused by special substrates or complex label shapes.

Waterless coldset offset printing offers many advantages in terms of print quality, start-up and production waste, economy and ecology. This is confirmed day in, day out by the 20 operating companies who use the KBA Cortina, with a total of 90 productive printing towers. In coldset printing, the in-line finishing of the printed products with an integrated varnishing unit for water-based varnish and an IR dryer is a further unique feature of the KBA Cortina, which produces without any damping units.
Flint Group announces global price increases for its packaging, narrow web and sheetfed products

Due to highly volatile raw material markets and an uncertain macro-level landscape, Flint Group is introducing a global price increase for its Packaging, Narrow Web and Sheetfed customers. Following a prolonged period of significant raw material cost inflation, force majeure announcements and changes in the supply outlook of raw materials for printing inks and varnishes, Flint Group Packaging, Narrow Web & Sheetfed division confirms price increases of between 4% - 7%, effective April 3rd 2017. Mr. Doug Aldred - President of the Packaging, Narrow Web & Sheetfed division, announcing the decision to adjust prices stated, “The increases will vary by product group and our business managers will be in contact with their customers over the next few days to discuss the details.”

The vehicle fleet at HERMA was virtually climate-neutral again for the sixth year in succession in 2016 and therefore makes a significant contribution to environmental protection. This was made possible because of a special recycling programme for discarded siliconized release liner: this amounted to 229 metric tons last year. The recycling avoided around 457 metric tons of CO2 emissions that would have been generated when manufacturing products made from virgin fibres.

Design impetus from Scandinavia: Danish studio takes part in Trendtable for the first time. Combined design expertise comes to Frankfurt: seven international trend agencies met on 7 and 8 March for the Heimtextil Trendtable meeting at Messe Frankfurt's exhibition grounds. They collated results from market research with the latest global design developments. These statements form the basis for the Heimtextil Trendbook which is presented by the trade fair organisers in late summer. With this annual meeting of design experts, Heimtextil has officially started its preparations for the upcoming trade fair in January 2018.
