Avery Dennison expands film matrix recycling offer to customers
Avery Dennison and Belgian-based Seliplast AG (acronym for Second Life for Plastics) have launched a first-of-its-kind recycling option for label matrix waste made of polypropylene and polyethylene. The programme is now available to converters in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and France.
Onyx Graphics previews new ONYX 12 software at FESPA
At FESPA Onyx Graphics, Inc. will show the power of its latest production and colour management solutions for a wide variety of graphics, textile, décor and industrial print applications. The company will give an exclusive preview of ONYX 12 software prior to its commercial launch this summer. ONYX 12 enhances software responsiveness and allows print service providers (PSPs) to expand their applications with brand new finishing tools. These new tools are combined with easier automation and a modified user interface to simplify job preparation.
ASLAN celebrates its 65th anniversary
In the summer of 1950 Alfred Schwarz introduced the innovative ASLAN Mipofolie – a highly flexible and writable protection film for geographical maps – and laid the foundation for 65 years of ASLAN, “expertise in self-adhesive films”. In the last 65 years the private and family owned company ASLAN, Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG has grown steadily and sells its products world-wide. Today the company is run in the third generation by Oliver Schwarz.
InPrint announces strategic sponsors and ambassadors for this years show in Munich
InPrint is the exhibition for industrial print technologies for manufacturing. Following the success of the show’s launch edition in 2014, the second edition of the show is benefitting from an increasing number of sponsors and an enriched team of ambassadors dedicated to promoting functional and decorative printing for industrial production. Some 150 exhibiting companies will showcase innovative industrial printing solutions at InPrint 2015, including more than 40 new exhibitors. The show will take place 10-12 November 2015 at the Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany, perfectly positioned for visitors across the globe.
CCE International 2015 with a visitor plus of 18%
With an increase of 18% in visitor numbers, the specialised trade show CCE International 2015 was a great success. A total of 2,410 visitors from 62 countries discovered a comprehensive range of raw materials, machines, accessories and services for the production and conversion of corrugated and cartonboard at this year’s show. A characteristic of the event was the high quality of visitors and the exchange of expertise in open seminars held on-site.
ICE Europe 2015 Converting community celebrates a further record event
A total of 7,040 visitors from 71 countries and 439 exhibitors from 26 countries on a net exhibition space of 11,000 square metres – the results of the 9th edition of ICE Europe add another record to the success story of the World’s Leading Exhibition for Paper, Film & Foil Converting. Compared with the previous event the figures of this year’s exhibition represent a 7% increase in visitor numbers and a 10% increase in exhibitor numbers and floor space.
swissQprint launches two new models in Fespa
swissQprint is presenting two new large format printers at Fespa 2015. The Oryx 2 and Impala 2 models are both available now. Their Swiss developer and manufacturer will also be showing a new workflow for 3D printing effects. Second growth at swissQprint: The new Oryx 2 and Impala 2 UV printers celebrate their premiere at Fespa 2015, with orders being taken now. Users gain yet more scope in their format choices thanks to the 2.5 × 2 metre large flatbed featured on both printers – representing a 25% greater area than the firstgeneration models. In addition, the new systems deliver considerably higher output than their predecessors. Between 18 and 22 May 2015, visitors to Stand Q27 in Hall 6 will be able to witness two swissQprint machines in action.
Miller Graphics installs ThermoFlexX 80 at new Algerian factory
The recent advancements in digital flexo plate production made by Belgian manufacturer ThermoFlexX are attracting interest around the world, with the latest installation of a ThermoFlexX 80-S imager taking place in Algeria at an 800 sq metre factory in Bejaia completed recently by the Miller Graphics Group. Miller Graphics, a leading European supplier of pre-press services to the flexo market, has invested around one million Euros in the new plant, which offers design, artwork, repro and platemaking services.
Grafikontrol to showcase its updated range of control systems at Converflex 2015
Grafikontrol, leader in manufacturing press controls for the graphic industry, will introduce its next-generation systems for the packaging segment at Converflex 2015, Hall 2, stand E21-F28, from May 19 to 23. Registration now open for Dscoops Largest EMEA Conference
As DscoopX closes its doors in the US after its 10th conference, registration is now officially open for the fourth annual Dscoop EMEA conference. Taking place from 3-5 June 2015 across four floors of the Convention Centre Dublin, Ireland, this year’s conference is set to be the biggest Dscoop event in EMEA to date.
Graph Expo shifts to Orlando in 2016
The Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) announces today that GRAPH EXPO 16, promising to be the year's largest and most inclusive graphic communications exhibition and conference for the Americas, will take place September 25 - 28, 2016, in Orlando's Orange County Convention Center. Second drupa Global Trends report: International printing sector looks to the future with surprising optimism
Initial results from the second "drupa Global Trends" report are showing sustained recovery from the recession with some surprising insights and positive feedback. The full report designed to highlight economic and operational trends in the worldwide print sector is available at the end of March. The results are all the more interesting as the survey itself, conducted in October 2014, was largely identical to the first "drupa Global Trends" report from February 2014. In addition this year a full survey was conducted amongst industry suppliers for the first time, ensuring a balanced picture of the global print market. Developments and important key data from the worldwide print sector – such as financial conditions, business climate, investment plans and technologies used are given in detail and trends revealed.
Global pharmaceutical company adopts solution devised by Atlantic Zeiser
When coding pharmaceutical products, manufacturers must be able to rely 100% on the flawless and durable printing of variable data, such as the use-by date and batch information. In many cases, however, the printed image produced by thermal transfer technology, which is most widely used at present, does not offer resistance to wear and abrasion. Atlantic Zeiser's DIGILINE Label printing system, as installed in a plant operated by a global manufacturer of vaccines, now offers a solution.

A new solution from Kodak, the KODAK PROSPER IOS (Image Optimizer Station) Offline Coating Solution, extends Kodak’s industry leading paper treatment solution from an in-line process to one decoupled from the printing process itself. Kodak’s expertise in inkjet technology, ink formulation and the interaction with various substrates allows this standalone solution to treat a wide variety of papers. This offline solution enables optimal substrate preparation for use with KODAK PROSPER Presses, leading to more operational control.
SAi to present its full range of digital print at Fespa Brazil 2015

A new, state-of-the-art machine upholds Gmund Paper Mills exactingly high standards
Even shorter delivery times, the most accurately cut edges and the ability to comply with the most unusual requests from customers: these were the indispensable characteristics of the new technology for a new cutter-sorter in Gmund. The new cutting unit was manufactured by Milltex, which is renowned for the precision of its products. A specially equipped version of this machine, which uses the patented Ingromat method, was constructed for Gmund and subsequently installed at the paper mill. The unit perfectly augments Gmund’s existing machine park of production equipment.
