KBA soon to add sales and service subsidiary in Mexico City

Within days of announcing at Drupa that it had acquired a majority interest in its Brazilian agency, Deltagraf in São Paulo, KBA has revealed that it will shortly be boosting its presence in northern Latin America with a new sales and service organisation based in Mexico City. The new subsidiary, whose name has yet to be finalised, will serve printers in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela as well as the Caribbean. It will be headed by Stefan Deuster, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the graphic arts industry and previously managed the manroland Latina group.
NELA installs new optical shearing and bending system for GOSS Sunday 4000 press

In the course of a substantial extension of their Queienfeld print site in 2011, Inline Rollenoffset Ploch & Strube OHG have invested in two new GOSS Sunday 4000 presses. The plates for the new presses are precisely sheared and bent in a new NELA VCPevolution 2100 Vision-shearing and bending system.

Pageflex globalization strategy takes a successful start at Drupa 2012

Pageflex announced that Instant Digital Services has licensed Pageflex Storefront. The deal was signed today at drupa. Working on the sale was Pageflex’s newest reseller, Acacia, a Singapore based IT provider who is reselling the entire Pageflex product line in Southeast Asia. Instant Digital Services is based in Singapore and produces business cards and photo books for their customers. They purchased Pageflex Storefront to expand their printing services and to better serve their customers.
CGS and Esko sign agreement to interface special color libraries

CGS Publishing Technologies International and Esko announced that they have entered an agreement to offer users an interface between Esko's Color Engine and CGS's color proofing products. The new option provides access to the Color Engine database of spot color ink profiles directly from ORIS Color Tuner // Web, providing users with the colorimetric data of their existing Esko color libraries to ensure accuracy and repeatability throughout the design, proofing and production process. The interface also provides ORIS users direct access to PantoneLIVE ™ from X-Rite/Pantone.

Dutch ICT specialists gearing up to expand into international printing and publishing industry

Zechini present two new systems for page-to-page book production

Among the most interesting novelties at Drupa there will be two Zechini solutions for production of page-to-page books: Red Arrow, developed especially for children’s books made of cardboard, and Silver Arrow, developed for premium quality digitally printed books. The Red Arrow is a fully automatic, modular system which gathers printed cardboard sheets, folds them into 4-page signatures, glues these over the entire surface and mounts them on top of one another. The end result is a book block that can be opened completely flat. One operator is sufficient to feed boards, oversee production and unload finished products. A 15” touch screen enables easy programming and control of all the functions.
Phoenix Xtra Blankets showcasing printing blanket highlights at drupa

PHOENIX Xtra BLANKETS is banking on climate-friendly printing blankets. At the drupa 2012 print media trade show (May 3-16, Düsseldorf), the ContiTech Group is exhibiting at booth 6A 77 in hall 6, where it will be presenting new products for the printing of packaging materials, heatset printing, and varnishing. Internally, the reduction of CO2 emissions is being pursued consistently by optimizing the production of PHOENIX printing blankets.
