Lintec Graphic Films strengthens sales team in Italian market

Heidelberg officially opens cogeneration plant at Wiesloch-Walldorf Site

Baden-Württemberg's Environment Minister Franz Untersteller and Gerold Linzbach, CEO of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), officially opened a cogeneration plant at the company's Wiesloch-Walldorf site. Around 300 guests attended the opening ceremony and were able to take a tour of the plant. They included representatives from political and municipal bodies, the media, the project team, and the Heidelberg management team. The power and heat generated by the new plant will enable Heidelberg to reduce total energy costs at the site by around ten percent.

Second print facility of large german printer goes “Plate to Press” with NELA

Delivery of print-ready plates directly to the correct print unit, no more manual sorting of plates, storage capacity for several print jobs – for Druckhaus Ulm-Oberschwaben (DUO) in southern Germany, this will now also become reality at their Weingarten print facility. A fully automatic NELA plate sorting system with PlateFlow software will enable DUO to store printing plates for a number of print jobs in so-called “plate stations”, which are located directly at the levels of the new manroland press.

Amir Alicic is the Printing Manager at Pressehaus Stuttgart and is the main responsible person for the economical operation of the KBA Commander 4/2 with 10 cylinder satellite, comprising 6 machines with two printing towers, both of which are combined with one folder system. Starting as a printing assistant, Mr. Alicic has worked his way up the corporate ladder, assuming ever more increasing responsibilities in-house and rising to the position he is now. He knows the machines like no one else in the company. Together with his Maintenance Manager, Mr. Bernhard Bähler, they guarantee the machine's perfect working order and ensure the optimisation for the daily challenges.

Change at the helm of drupa and digi:media

For personal reasons Manuel Mataré, Director of drupa and digi:media, will gradually be withdrawing from operational management as of the start of next year. At the same time, he will progressively hand over the projects to his successor Sabine Geldermann, thereby ensuring continuity. This transition phase will run until the end of the second quarter of 2013, after which time Mataré will support the drupa and digi:media teams in a consulting capacity.
