LINTEC wins Award for Sustainability at Label Industry Global Awards
LINTEC’s long-standing commitment to the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable materials and processes in its production process was recognized last night by the prestigious award for Sustainability at the INDUSTRY GLOBAL AWARDS hosted by LABELEXPO 2015. Since the 1990’s, LINTEC has launched a whole range of environmentally friendly products under the “KINATH” brand (its KINd to the eArTH innovative programme). LINTEC has been leading the replacement of solvent pressure sensitive adhesives with solvent-free pressure sensitive adhesives. By 2013, 71% of all LINTEC’s label printing materials were solvent free.
Konica Minolta enters the industrial printing market
Konica Minolta presented at Labelexpo 2015 its first full-digital label press system, which will fill the gap between entry-level and high-end digital label printing presses. The bizhub PRESS C71cf is ideal for profitable short to mid runs for an affordable investment. Converters approaching digital engines benefit from its ease of operation, production flexibility, quicker turnaround and variable data printing functions. This is the first step of Konica Minolta in offering an innovative industrial printing portfolio. In spring of 2016, Konica Minolta will present KM-1, a revolutionary four colour digital printing machine.
RevolutionAIR, the new MBS launched at Labelexpo
At Labelexpo Europe, UV systems manufacturer IST METZ showed the latest trends in UV label printing. According to the Yole market research institute, LED technology is expected to achieve a market share of around 30 per cent in 2016, a significant rise compared to previous years. LED technology currently makes up the greatest proportion of adhesive curing and inkjet printing. But it is also increasingly requested in label printing.

Pulse Roll Label Products Unveils PureTone Ink Series
Narrow web ink and varnish manufacturer, Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd, launched its new high strength UV flexo ink series, PureTone at Labelexpo Europe 2015. The PureTone range includes a high strength, mono-pigmented mixing ink system, which comprises 9 base colours with the addition of a special Royal blue plus extender. The single pigment formulation of the nine mixing bases makes it much easier to colour match due to the reduced total number of pigments used in the mixed ink.
Kornit Digital expands textile market reach with the Vulcan at ITMA 2015
Kornit Digital, a worldwide market leader in digital textile printing, has announced that it will present its new high-productivity, low-cost-per-print Vulcan system at ITMA 2015, taking place November 12-19 in Milan. Kornit’s new Vulcan is a digital platform that for the first time rivals screen printing for mid-to-long runs, due to its extraordinary speed and ink efficiency. Dow Corning unveils advanced water-based emulsion for off-line PET Film
Dow Corning, a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, introduced at Labelexpo Europe new Syl-Off EM 7945 Coating, the company’s new water-based silicone emulsion developed for off-line coating of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films.
