First model printing house invests in the KODAK PROSPER 1000 Press
The oldest printing factory in Russia, First Model Printing House, has chosen to invest in a KODAK PROSPER 1000 Press after spotting a gap in the market for short-run book publishing. “Historically, the use of traditional offset methods to print fewer than 2,000 book copies has been unprofitable due to the startup costs involved; however, switching to a digital system has allowed us to make profit on much shorter print runs,” says Boris Gorelik, Director of Digital Printing at the Chekhov Pechatny Dvor branch of First Model Printing House.

Global recovered paper demand to grow 2.5% per year until 2029 as trade shifts worldwide
After two years of slowed global recovered paper markets, expanding capacities of recycled fiber based paper and board will re-accelerate demand growth over the next 15 years. Though the recovered paper markets experienced volatility over the last few decades, growth has cooled in the last two years due to decelerating demand and slowing paper and board markets. World recovered paper consumption growth was down from 4% in last ten years to 1.7% per year in 2013.

IIJ on rapid growth curve after massive demand increase for print engines
Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ) has doubled the size of its manufacturing base in Cambridgeshire to cope with a massive increase in demand for its print engines. The workforce has gone up from 25 to 40 this year to cope with a 50% sales growth in 2014. John Corrall, Managing Director of IIJ, said: “While other companies in similar markets have been laying off staff and suffering due to a perceived global slowdown, we are continuing to expand at an ever-faster rate. The security, labelling and product decoration markets have provided the strongest growth.”
