The new, brighter UPM Sol lets your printed material shine

The UPM Sol family has renewed itself. UPM Sol is a premium coated mechanical sheet-fed grade with a blue-white shade known for its high optical brightness levels. Now UPM has introduced an enhanced version of the paper pushing its brightness even higher. The new UPM Sol, in gloss, silk and matt surface has been available as of 1st March 2016.
Caldera unveils GrandPLAN for technical print operations

New Internet website for the KBA Group

The printing press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) has completely redesigned its Internet website, in cooperation with the queo agency from Dresden, and has adapted it to the changes in user behaviour. The new website is more clearly structured, has less text and is more dynamic, with automatic links to useful detailed background information. With its new Internet website, KBA has also responded to the rapid increase in the mobile use of the World Wide Web.
hubergroup inks for today's UV printing

Prompted by its relocation of UV ink production from Lachen in Switzerland to its German mother plant at Kirchheim, the printing-ink manufacturer hubergroup decided to update many of its products for the UV offset segment. Following a comprehensive test phase, these upgrades have now reached full market-readiness. While the brand names of the familiar NewV series have been retained, a new product line has been created for LED-curing products.
Konica Minolta, Vpress and Tharstern show power of AccurioJet KM-1 at drupa 2016

Konica Minolta has joined forces with alliance partners Tharstern and Vpress on its booth at drupa to demonstrate how it can integrate highly automated workflows and cloud-based technology – including JDF – into the AccurioJet KM-1 Inkjet Manager. Visitors were invited to watch the workflow in action where a wide range of applications are being shown as part of integrated sales and production workflows. The demonstrations support and educate customers on what they can do with the AccurioJet KM-1, which is being commercially launched at drupa. Demonstrations from alliance partners included Vpress web2print, Tharstern MIS and a press showing hybrid work and imposition. The integrated workflow from front end to output showed how print jobs can be easily tracked and managed.
HP Inc. Partners with Henkel, a leading global adhesive supplier

At drupa 2016, HP Inc. announced its partnership with Henkel AG & Company, KGaA to further develop adhesive solutions that are highly compatible with HP Indigo ElectroInk, reinforcing the viability of digitally produced flexible packaging. As the leading solution provider for adhesives, sealants and functional coatings worldwide and headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, Henkel is a significant partner to further create solutions that are compatible with HP Indigo digital presses and HP Indigo ElectroInk. Building on a collaboration spanning three years, the formal partnership will expedite the development of adhesives for flexible packaging lamination.

The InPEQ Forum, a meeting of members of the printing industry from the Balkan States and their European partners, took place for the eleventh time on June 7th. This year’s host was the main sponsor of the event, manroland web systems. drupa 2016 was chosen as a befitting location by the organisation of Eastern European printers. More than 50 managers and experts from the printing industry from a total of twelve European countries participated in the event. Alongside a live presentation of newspaper production with the variable Inline Finishing Module FoldLine at the manroland web systems Stand, there was time for interesting discussions and a multitude of useful contacts were made.
Kodaks FLEXCEL NX System confirmed as leading choice for flexo with 500th order at drupa 2016

Kodak marked a significant milestone in the worldwide adoption of its industry-leading flexographic plate technology with the 500th order of a KODAK FLEXCEL NX System. Multidruk, a Polish flexographic prepress provider that is also expanding its services to the rest of Europe, returned to drupa 2016 to place an order for its second FLEXCEL NX System. The new FLEXCEL NX Wide System will be an addition to the mid-sized device they ordered at the show in 2012.
Fujifilm and Heidelberg target growth potential of the industry

Eagle Systems to exhibit cold foil on uncoated paper

In the works for more than six years as an R&D project, drupa 2016 will mark the first time a viable, sellable solution, with 100% coverage capabilities, will be available to the marketplace. Only at the show, and not before, will proprietary samples be distributed. Eagle is exhibiting in Hall 16 Stand A71 at the German worldwide printing exhibition, beginning later this month.
Futec invites drupa visitors to win a trip to Japan
