Winfried Schaur is currently Senior Vice President responsible for Newspaper publishing business unit within UPM Paper ENA. He has been in his current role since 2013 and in UPM since 2001 holding several leadership positions in the paper business.

Screen accelerates expansion into Chinese digital press market with Truepress Jet520HD order

A deal that includes an order for eight digital printing systems and an ongoing partnership agreement has been signed by Screen Graphic and Precision Solutions Co., Ltd. (Screen) with the Chinese CNPIEC Digital Printing Co., Ltd (CNPIEC Digital Printing). The two companies have also concluded a partnership agreement that will form the basis for a mutually beneficial strategic relationship. Under the terms of the agreement, Screen will initially provide CNPIEC Digital Printing with technical support as it expands its digital printing business. Screen will also use CNPIEC Digital Printing’s facilities to develop promotional campaigns to accelerate its sales strategies for China and the rest of Asia.

Avery Dennison has brought its sustainability vision to life at its new EU headquarters and Research & Development center in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands. The long-term leased building acts as the European hub for the global Avery Dennison Materials Group business - a leader in labelling, packaging, and graphics solutions. A BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certificate was awarded at a ceremony on December 10, during a celebration for all of the partners involved in the building’s design and construction. The building is located in the BioScience Park in Oegstgeest, which is among the top five science parks in Europe.

The primary partner for development and delivery of innovative content for drupa cube 2016 is international innovation firm The Medici Group and its founder and CEO Frans Johansson. Wide format printer & sign cutting plotter manufacturer Mutoh announced that it has started shipping the successor models for the VJ-1324 and VJ-2638 Sign & Display printers, i.e. the new single head 54” (1.37 m) wide ValueJet 1324X and the dual head 102” (2.6 m) wide ValueJet 2638X. Engineered & manufactured in Japan, these two new models are an addition to Mutoh’s existing 64” (1.62 m) wide ValueJet 1624X single head and ValueJet 1638X dual head models.

Smithers Pira publishes new report, The Future of Dye-Sublimation Printing to 2021, which provides an in-depth, long-term assessment of the rapidly evolving market for this print technology. EFI reports record revenue for fourth quarter

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, announced its results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2015. For the quarter ended December 31, 2015, the Company reported record revenue of $256.5 million, up 22% compared to fourth quarter 2014 revenue of $211.1 million. Non-GAAP net income was $29.4 million or $0.61 per diluted share, which was reduced by 3 cents due to balance sheet currency translation impact, compared to non-GAAP net income of $25.1 million or $0.52 per diluted share for the same period in 2014, which was reduced by 2 cents due to balance sheet currency translation impact. GAAP net income was $10.3 million or $0.21 per diluted share, compared to $11.9 million or $0.25 per diluted share for the same period in 2014.
