Best digital quick off the mark to land world’s first screen Truepress Jet W1632UV

Screen has installed the world’s first Truepress Jet W1632UV flatbed inkjet printer at UK large-format POS specialist Best Digital. Best saw and ordered the Truepress Jet W1632UV at drupa in a £500,000 (€620,000) two-machine deal that also included a Screen Truepress Jet 2500UV hybrid wide-format printer. The investment is expected to treble capacity and double turnover to £3 million (€3.7 million) by 2014 as the company expands into new markets with new added-value products.

Miller Graphics invests in the Kodak Flexcel Direct System at drupa 2012

International image processing specialist for the packaging industry, Miller Graphics Group, has invested in the FLEXCEL Direct System for its Limoges plant. The company signed the deal at drupa 2012, and became the first prepress company in Europe to invest in the technology.
Xerox adds more weight to Verdigris as ‘Founder’ member

Xerox Corporation is the latest to put its weight behind Verdigris, the not-for-profit print environmental research initiative, as a Founder Member. Xerox joins Agfa, Canon, drupa, EcoPrint, EFI, Fespa, Fujifilm, HP, Pragati, Ricoh, Unity Publishing and Xeikon as Verdigris supporters.
Heidelberg wins Red Dot Design award for its booth at drupa 2012

The trade show booth of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has won the renowned "red dot award: communication design 2012" presented by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (North Rhine-Westphalia Design Center). This year, the international panel of judges assessed 6,823 entries from 43 countries in a total of 21 categories. Heidelberg and its design agency partner KMS BLACKBOX from Munich won the award in the "Event Design - Trade Fairs" category.
