Cuban Printer Opts for UNISET from manroland web systems
The Cuban printer Empresa de Artes Gráficas Federico Engels is one of the largest printing houses in Cuba. Based in the capital Havana, the company produces several tabloid products and, what is the main business, books. With this investment an extension of the production capacity was intended. Therefore the printer decided to invest in a new UNISET press from manroland web systems.
Mexico City prepares for Label Summit Latin America return
Leading figures from the label industry will be gathering this spring as Label Summit Latin America returns to Mexico. Being held at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, the two-day conference and table-top exhibition is taking place between 21 – 22 April. Stratasys expands FDM and Polyjet 3D printing material options
Stratasys Ltd. a leading global provider of 3D printing and additive manufacturing solutions, introduced new colors for its ASA thermoplastic and expanded its Digital Materials. Launched in September, ASA is an all-purpose FDM material used for the production of prototypes, manufacturing tools and finished goods. Adding to the previously launched ivory and black, the eight new color options for ASA include: red, orange, dark gray, yellow, green, dark blue, white and light gray. ASA now offers the most color options of any FDM material, allowing users the flexibility to create colorful parts that are UV resistant, strong and durable.
Esma Conference provides 360 view of new world of interior decoration
A 360° view of printed decoration on different materials for wall and floor covering as well as textiles and furniture was presented at the ESMA-organised Printed Interior Decoration (PID). Peter Buttiens, CEO of ESMA and event organiser of the first European event of its kind, comments: “Looking at the printing market today, many traditional segments are under pressure from competition and these results in lower margins and less work. With a little help and expertise, many of the large format printers can become important suppliers for Printed Interior Decoration solutions”.

KM Media Group acquires One Source Solutions
Epicomm, formerly AMSP/NAPL/NAQP, has announced that KM Media Group, with locations in Clifton, N.J., and New York, N.Y., has acquired One Source Solutions,  Newark, N.J. One Source Solutions will relocate its employees and equipment to KM Media’s 50,000 sq. ft. Clifton location, where it will continue to serve its customers with an expanded slate of printing and design solutions.
Amica Systems also in European inkjet business
Amica Systems, a Leading Developer & Manufacturer of Industrial Inkjet Solutions founded a new branch office in The Netherlands for the European market. The managing director of Amica Europe, Patrick Citroen has an experienced track record in the inkjet technology markets of direct mail and printing houses. ThermoFlexX wins first UK order and says more on way
ThermoFlexX has installed its first flexo imager in the UK following an order for a ThermoFlexX 30 from high-quality label printer Mission Labels and the Belgian manufacturer says it expects to be announcing further UK orders in the near future. Mission Labels has purchased the digital flexo plate imager as part of a £100,000 investment in pre-press facilities that has resulted in the West Sussex flexographic printer moving from traditional film setting to state-of-the-art CTP production. In addition to the ThermoFlexX 30, the recent expansion includes front-end systems, AV Flexologic exposure equipment and a new pre-press department containing an art and design studio.
