MPS brings new dimension in narrow web printing at Labelexpo Europe

MPS announced a successful Labelexpo Europe event with the debut showing of an extended new product range, and the first sale of its new hybrid EF SYMJET flexo/digital press launched in cooperation with proven technology partner Domino. Martin Automatic scores with innovations at Labelexpo

Martin Automatic reported high levels of interest in its roll handling technology at the recent Brussels event, with the company’s stand attracting converters from all parts of Europe, including growing markets like Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia, as well as Southeast Asia, and a large delegation that had travelled from Japan.
Successful Labelexpo for GEW

GEW (EC) Limited reports on a successful Labelexpo Europe where the company’s ArcLED hybrid UV curing system made its debut to the international label industry. Malcolm Rae, GEW’s Managing Director, comments: “The activity on our booth and at the show at large far exceeded our expectations. We are delighted to have found that at Labelexpo 196 GEW UV lampheads were used on working demonstrations with OEMs, an ample majority that firmly positions GEW as the leading UV supplier in the industry.” And Rae adds: “Visitors to our stand acknowledged and complimented the performance and innovative features of our ArcLED hybrid UV system.”
Hollanders announces strategy to clarify single-side and double-sided textile printing business models

In line with its continuing move into expanding market sectors, Hollanders Printing Systems is dividing its portfolio to clarify the specific segments for its digital textile printing solutions. While the company’s single-sided platforms are designed for sign-makers and display producers, there has been noted growth for its double-sided devices which increasingly appeal to specialist products of more industrial applications including printer interior decoration and furnishings.
RAKO-GROUP boosts labels and packaging leadership with purchase of 11 HP Indigo digital presses

HP announced that RAKO-GROUP (RAKO) has purchased two HP Indigo 20000 Digital Presses and nine HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Presses, making it the largest labels and packaging deal in HP Indigo history. The purchase builds on RAKO’s existing fleet of HP Indigo Digital Presses and expands its multi-press, multi-site labels and packaging digital offerings while providing increased capacity to help meet customer demands.

Rotoflex boosts its industry presence at Labelexpo Europe

Rotoflex showed a range of innovative technology in the shape of VSI and VLI slitter rewinders, and rated Labelexpo a resounding success, according to Vice President Kevin Gourlay. A VLI slitter rewinder ran unsupported film at speeds up to 610 m/min while delivering consistent, high quality rolls.  The versatile VLI can be configured with an inspection system to support a full range of applications and substrates including pressure sensitive labels and tension-sensitive materials.  Also on show was the Rotoflex flagship VSI slitter rewinder.  This model, with its small footprint, was finishing printed labels with an inline Nikka Research inspection system.
IIJ expertise takes Spilker into digital inkjet cold foil market

At  Labelexpo in Brussels, Spilker has launched into the digital cold foil market for label production with the help of Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ) and Kurz. The specialist provider of rotary-processing solutions, which offers the complete service for the manufacturing of special-purpose machinery, is live testing on its Stand 4C58 in Hall 4. Successful trials  have been completed with cold foil at 25m / min.
Pulse Roll Label kicks off Labelexpo week with global partner conference

Kodak is maximizing plate performance and improving the sustainability of its customers’ operations with the announcement of the KODAK ELECTRA MAX Thermal Plate. The new offset printing plate was showcased at Labelexpo Europe 2015 at the Kodak booth 5D15. Kodak’s new ELECTRA MAX Plate offers maximum capabilities and stability for printers, such as long unbaked run lengths, strong chemical resistance, and 10-micron FM and 450 lpi (180 lines/cm) AM resolution capabilities.  The versatile thermal plate is suitable for use in a diverse range of printing environments. It is ideal for printers using UV curable inks and particularly well suited for offset packaging printing as well as web publication and commercial sheetfed printing.
LINTEC wins Award for Sustainability at Label Industry Global Awards

LINTEC’s long-standing commitment to the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable materials and processes in its production process was recognized last night by the prestigious award for Sustainability at the INDUSTRY GLOBAL AWARDS hosted by LABELEXPO 2015. Since the 1990’s, LINTEC has launched a whole range of environmentally friendly products under the “KINATH” brand (its KINd to the eArTH innovative programme). LINTEC has been leading the replacement of solvent pressure sensitive adhesives with solvent-free pressure sensitive adhesives. By 2013, 71% of all LINTEC’s label printing materials were solvent free.

At Labelexpo Europe, UV systems manufacturer IST METZ showed the latest trends in UV label printing. According to the Yole market research institute, LED technology is expected to achieve a market share of around 30 per cent in 2016, a significant rise compared to previous years. LED technology currently makes up the greatest proportion of adhesive curing and inkjet printing. But it is also increasingly requested in label printing.

Pulse Roll Label Products Unveils PureTone Ink Series

Narrow web ink and varnish manufacturer, Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd, launched its new high strength UV flexo ink series, PureTone at Labelexpo Europe 2015. The PureTone range includes a high strength, mono-pigmented mixing ink system, which comprises 9 base colours with the addition of a special Royal blue plus extender. The single pigment formulation of the nine mixing bases makes it much easier to colour match due to the reduced total number of pigments used in the mixed ink.
