Fujifilms Superia portfolio to reduce waste at ranked web-to-print specialist

Fujifilm announces that Route One Print, the web-to-print trade arm of Bluetree Design and Print in Rotherham, has invested in its Superia pre-press solution for offset printing – a portfolio of products designed to help offset printers reduce waste and boost profitability. The investment includes Brillia HD LH-PJE plates, XMF workflow, a low chemistry FLH-Z plate processor and an XR unit.
BST eltromat launches the FSS 15 on the market

Under the name FSS 15, BST eltromat International is presenting a new system for ink fountain control in offset printing. The FSS 15 is the successor to the company's previous ink fountain control systems developed for this printing process. In combination with the AR 4000 register control system for offset and hybrid printing presses, as well as a variety of web video inspection and 100% inspection systems from BST eltromat, the FSS 15 offers offset printers perfect management and quality control of their printing results.
Drupa launch for CreaseStream

CreaseStream (sister company to creasing specialists, Tech-ni-Fold) will use Drupa to launch their sub £1,000 manual Creaser, which they say is a "significant improvement" over the popular yet manual matrix Creasers that use a handle to apply a crease impression. In the words of owner Graham Harris, the difference is "Our version speeds up production over those old technology methods by up to six times."

Printing blanket specialist ContiTech is expanding its range of flexographic printing products and will present the first-ever Laserline flexographic printing sleeve featuring a compressible layer at drupa (May 31 to June 10, 2016). This layer improves printing performance and eliminates the halo effect. Phoenix Xtra Blankets presents the Nova Spot, a compressible coating plate, which – thanks to its special, newly developed top compound chemistry – is ideal for both water-based and UV varnishes. The specially designed manufacturing process guarantees that the top compound and the mylar foil are securely joined together. Even very aggressive UV varnishes do not cause delamination.

EFI reports record first quarter revenue of $234M, Up 20%

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, announced its results for the first quarter of 2016. For the quarter ended March 31, 2016, the Company reported record first quarter revenue of $234.1 million, up 20% compared to first quarter 2015 revenue of $194.6 million. Non-GAAP operating income was $33.5 million compared to $28.3 million for the same period in 2015.
